Personal documentary work using slides film with various analog cameras between 2005 – 2021. People, places and edges of moments.

Many of the people and places in these photos are long gone. Passed, demolished, or faded away.
My method of documenting will always be analog film. For the past 17 years (after being highly inspired by Nan Goldin’s work) I’ve religiously chose film and analog formats – a pricy, problematic and somewhat complicated method of work in this digital era.
After many burned stacks of film, over-exposed frames and much frustration I’ve to asked myself the same question; Why film?

In my work I see films as tiny memory-capsules. They are engraved with moments; Painful, uplifting, things I have forgot. They contain people and places that are gone. They are sleek to the touch and smell of ammonia. They remind me of my inability of letting go – with each image clicked, with each film-roll stored. Some of them still sit undeveloped, for years. I keep them as some kind of a neuro-surprise, letting me re-live things I forgot.
